The conference will take place at the University of Malaya Centre of Innovation & Commercialization (UMCIC)
located at Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The University of Malaya Centre of Innovation and Commercialisation (UMCIC), incepted on 21 January 2009, were previously known as the Technology Transfer and Commercialisation Unit, under the Institute of Research Management and Consultancy. Initiated on 1st July 1998 as the Department of Business Development Chancellery, University of Malaya for the purpose of commercialising UM research products, services and technology resulting from research activities of UM. |
UMCIC seeks to provide linkages between organisations and individuals with new technological innovations with a view towards commercialisation. The focus of UMCIC is on activities relating to intellectual property, innovation, technopreneurship, technology transfer, licensing, and business development for the university.
The conference venue is located 17 minutes from Kuala Lumpur City Centre (CBD) and well connected by public transport.

The country experiences tropical weather all year-round, with temperatures ranging from 21ºC (70ºF) to 32ºC (90ºF). Expect rain showers during the wet season from April to October on the West Coast, and from November to February on the East Coast of the Peninsula.

English is also widely spoken among the population of 32 million (2018 estimate). The Malays comprise 57% of the population, while the Chinese, Indians and other races make up the rest of Malaysia's diverse population. While Malaysian Malay is the national language, the many ethnic groups also converse in various languages and dialects such as Cantonese and Mandarin for Chinese, and Hindi, Tamil and Urdu for Indians. Islam is the official religion, while other religions such as Buddhism and Christianity are also widely and freely practised.

Malaysia follows the Imperial metric system for weight and measurement, as commonly practised in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Local calls can be made from public phones using coins or prepaid cards. International calls can also be made using phone cards or at any Telekom office.
We recommend purchasing a local prepaid card or SIM card with a cellular data plan for short to medium-length stays, should you wish to travel further.
ACCESSIBILITIES
Various types of services and accommodations can be provided to delegates with disabilities so that everyone can be an active member of the conference. If you have a disability and require assistance, please inform us by mentioning your requirements in the registration form. You will be contacted by someone from our staff to discuss your specific needs.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
Several transport options are available based on the visitor’s convenience. The nearest train stations to the conference venue are Phileo Damansara MRT (5.8 km), and Universiti LRT (3.0 km). From the stations, RapidKL feeder bus will bring you inside campus. However, only the feeder bus from Phileo Damansara MRT (T815) will stop adjacent to the venue. The campus is also accessible via taxi/e-hailing vehicle (drop-point: Research Management & Innovation Complex). For directions, please check HERE.
We highly recommend the use of e-hailing (provided you have an internet connection) for ease of transportation. The options include Grab, MyCar, and EzyGrab. Uber is not available in Malaysia.
FREE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
The free shuttle bus service inside the campus is only available to UM students. However, a dedicated bus will be scheduled to transport conference delegates to and from the conference venue, Pullman Bangsar Kuala Lumpur, Hotel Armada Petaling Jaya and Hotel Hilton Petaling Jaya.
PARKING
Dedicated parking will not be provided for the conference delegates. If you drive, an open free car park is available near the KL Gate and near the UM Arena, both car parks are within 10 minutes walk to the conference venue. Available car parks are not guaranteed, therefore participants are encouraged to take public transport.
VISA
Prior to departure from your home country, kindly ensure that you have obtained all necessary clearance or documents to travel to Malaysia.
